Coaching
In 2015, I made the transition from player to coach and couldn't have been be happier. I was incredibly fortunate to find a home for two years with Minneapolis Hockey as an assistant coach for their girls varsity team. I loved the players, I loved the challenge, and I'm thankful that head coach Sarma Özmen was willing to take me on as one of her assistants. When All Square took flight in 2018, I had to forgo my time as a coach. was so lucky to be surrounded by an amazing squad and exceptional coaching staff and hockey will forever be in my DNA.
Pond Hockey
Ahhhhh, how I love the sound of those two words together: Pond Hockey. There are a million reasons why I hope we find ways to slow down the warming of the planet. And this is one of them. Growing up in North Dakota, pond hockey was a way of life. The sequence went like this: lace up, skate like hell, head into the chalet for a cup of hot chocolate. Repeat for 5-6 hours (laughing) I won't make my son play hockey. But I do plan to at least throw a pair of hockey skates on his feet to see if the blades take.... :)
